Call for Submissions: Victim Protection (Trust Fund) Regulations, 2018
The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice and the Victim Protection Board in consultation with various stakeholders in the Criminal Justice System have developed the Victim Protection (Trust Fund) Regulations, 2018. These Regulations provide a framework for the operationalization of the Victim Protection Act 2014. The Act was established to provide for the protection, rights and welfare of Victims of Crime.
The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice and the Registrar General in consultation with various stakeholders in the Societies Section have developed the Associations Bill 2018. This Bill is aimed at repealing the current Societies Act of 1968 that is not in tandem with the Constitution of Kenya.
The Marriage Act, 2014 recognizes Five (5) systems of marriage, namely: Civil, Christian, Customary, Hindu and Islamic marriages. The following documents are required to register any of the mentioned marriages.
1. CIVIL MARRIAGES
➢ These are conducted in the Registrar of Marriages, Deputy County Commissioners or Assistant County Commissioners offices;
Call for submissions – Kenya draft policy on public participation
The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice in consultation with various stakeholders has developed the Kenya Draft Policy on Public Participation. This Policy is aimed at providing the framework for the management and coordination of public participation in Kenya in order to fulfil the constitutional requirement of citizen engagement in development and governance processes in the country.
